Valuable foods are destroyed because they can no longer be sold in the trade, although they are still suitable for consumption. Here, the idea of the "Rheingauer Caritas" is concerned: collecting unnecessary foodstuffs at manufacturers and markets and distributing them to people with low income! The "Rheingau Caritas" help to prevent the destruction of impeccable food and at the same time to alleviate poverty.
